Peloton Media Advisors is led by its Principal, Damian P. Riordan. Mr. Riordan’s background includes both M&A expertise and extensive media industry operating experience.
Damian P. Riordan, Principal
Damian Riordan has advised many of the most sophisticated, privately-held media clients and worked extensively with leading financial sponsors. Prior to starting Peloton Media Advisors, Mr. Riordan was with HT Capital Advisors where he was responsible launching and overseeing the firm’s media and entertainment platform, exclusively focused on the media and entertainment sector within HT Capital Advisors. Mr. Riordan participated in the firm’s private equity investing activities in addition to providing M&A advisory services to clients he originated for the firm. He has advised on numerous mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, private placements of debt and equity, and financial restructurings in the following sectors: broadcast television, broadcast radio, new media, digital technology, publishing, music catalogues, cinemas, filmed entertainment libraries, and outdoor advertising. Mr. Riordan’s background includes extensive experience, knowledge and contacts in the media and entertainment industry.
Before joining HT Capital as a Director, Mr. Riordan was with Communications Equity Associates (CEA), a middle market investment banking firm where he was responsible for engagements in the Media & Entertainment industry. Mr. Riordan advised numerous middle market media companies on successful private placements, merger and acquisition transactions, divestitures, and corporate valuation issues. Prior to CEA, Mr. Riordan spent over fifteen years in the media and entertainment industry, most recently with Time Warner where he held lead management positions in various revenue generating business units.
—During his years with Time Warner, he was responsible for creating a separate distribution division to help develop new properties while also enabling the company to better exploit its existing library. Mr. Riordan was able to build this division by successfully negotiating strategic, long-term contracts with several major media companies including: NBC, ABC, CBS, Gannett, Fox, Tribune, Media General, Graham Holdings, Hearst, Scripps, Sinclair, Turner Networks and HBO.
—Over the course of his career in the media and entertainment industry, Mr. Riordan was responsible for launching a number of hit television programs into syndication including: ER, The National Geographic Series, Friends, This Old House and various Warner Bros. Films and Animation.
